🎙️ "Energy is a world that connects and we think that it can do good. I'm very glad to have you today with us: you are the real protagonists of this OMC edition". Our president Monica Spada closed #OMCRavenna 2023 edition with students from high schools, remembering these last three days. Decarbonisation, sustainable mobility, energy & economic development, together with sustainability were the topic protagonists of this important edition. CEOs, ministers, corporates talked about the future of energy from the stage, in consistent and mutual dialogues. We are proudly glad to have had youngest generations with us: we are truly convinced that next future passes through them and we need young ideas to achieve a world people-oriented 🌍 Let's continue the dialogue! Nowadays, sustainable mobility is essential because a just transition becomes concrete through it. Day 3 started today with young & students coming to visit stands and interact with stakeholders. We have glad to have them at #OMCRavenna: we are truly convinced we have to build a future where youngs find opportunities for their development. This is one of our commitment 🚀 #energytransition

The OMC Med Energy Conference & Exhibition is a fitting moment to revisit our core principles for a balanced #EnergyTransition. Our approach to #decarbonisation is a holistic one that goes beyond the limitations of focusing on total electrification. #TechnologicalNeutrality is crucial to Eni ‘s strategy. It enables us to valorize all mature solutions and look for synergies and complementarities, especially in hard-to-abate industrial and mobility sectors, maximizing both efficiency and impact. It’s important to use all options at our disposal to achieve our goals. We have also to consider the socio-economic facets of this transition. While #renewables are essential, they shouldn't jeopardize economic stability or jobs. Ravenna's unique capabilities, particularly the possibility to reutilize the existing infrastructures and its depleted gas field to receive CO2 captured from different industries for many decades, offers a pragmatic solution to reach Eni’s #GHG reduction targets at the lowest cost, making Italy the most important hub for #CCS storage in the Mediterranean.

Day 2 at OMC Med Energy Conference & Exhibition has concluded. The conference agenda of today focused on #decarbonization, with an insight on needed investments and a business perspective on the levers of decarbonization in the energy sector, as long as the ambitious challenge for the hard-to-abate sectors. In the path towards #netzero a holistic approach that comprehends traditional, renewables and new energies is necessary, for targeting both security of supply and social equality. The CCS hub here in Ravenna is a practical example of this holistic approach. Today the energy hackathon session in Innovation Room has been a powerful sourcing hub gathering young students and collecting innovative ideas from the new generation. A change in perspective of the industrial sector is needed, implying the creation of a new business model centered on technological diversification and complementarity. Partnerships are a crucial instrument and digital represents a strategic lever. Indeed, 4 are the pillars of decarbonization: scaling the new energy systems, innovating in oil and gas, delivering digital at scale and decarbonizing the industry. Decarbonization represents therefore also a business opportunity for the #energytransition.
