    Trends in the European snack market 🛒 The snack food market in Europe is developing dynamically, fueled by the growing demand for convenient, tasty and affordable food products. The average annual growth of Ukraine's exports to the EU in the category of cereal snacks over the past 5 years (2019-2023) amounted to 36.6%. In 2023, Ukraine's exports to the EU increased by 10.7%. The largest importers of Ukrainian products are Sweden (26%), Poland (13%), and Denmark (13%). 🗾 The European snacks market is characterized not only by a wide range of products, but also by constant changes in consumer preferences and consumption trends. In 2023, the volume of the snack food market in Europe is estimated at USD 46,220 million. Western Europe accounts for the majority of the market volume, namely USD 37,760 million. The market size of Eastern Europe is much smaller, i.e. USD 8,460 million. The largest countries in terms of snack market volume are: France, Germany, and Spain. 📈 One of the most interesting aspects of analyzing the snack market in Europe is to study current consumption trends and popular choices among consumers. Main trends: 🔵 Consumers are increasingly paying attention to the environmental aspects of packaging and compostable materials. 🔵 There is a growing demand for new flavors, including those reminiscent of restaurant dishes. 🔵 The pandemic has forced people to pay more attention to their health, so consumers are looking for snacks that are healthier, lower in fat, and higher in protein and fiber. 🔵 New snacks include recycled or "preserved" ingredients. 🔵 Brands are increasingly turning to e-commerce to meet instant consumer needs. 🔵 The innovations include snacks for any time of the day, not only as a snack but also to relieve stress.     🔎Trends in the global chocolate market. 📊The global organic chocolate market is growing rapidly, reaching USD 13 billion in 2023. This trend is driven by consumers' growing awareness of healthy lifestyles and their desire for environmentally friendly products. The market is expected to continue to grow in the coming years, reaching USD 19.5 billion by 2028. 👫Consumers are increasingly interested in organic chocolate, which is free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives and is made from environmentally friendly ingredients.     🥖 Flour confectionery from Ukraine is a new pride in the international market! According to the State Customs Service, exports of this category of products are growing every year, achieving impressive results. However, with the emergence of new challenges and the “new normal,” Ukrainian companies need to prepare for the changes and establish sustainable export supplies. Let's take a look at what opportunities and challenges await us in this exciting export segment! 🌍 The global market of flour confectionery continues to surprise with its growth! According to research, in 2019, the total volume of imports of this category of goods amounted to as much as 37.3 billion US dollars! It is expected that global imports of flour confectionery will continue to grow in 2024. The growth is expected to be 2-3% in monetary terms and 1-2% in volume. And what is most interesting is that this figure is growing annually by 7% in monetary terms and by 11% in volume. This trend is very promising for Ukrainian producers, as it means even greater opportunities in the international market!  📈 Among the leading importers are the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France and other countries where the demand for flour confectionery is constantly growing.     We are glad to share the news that the U-Food Association is launching the Ukrainian Craft project! 🎉 Now craft manufacturers will be able to develop their business more easily and efficiently. Why did we create this proet? In Ukraine, crafters often face various obstacles: ❗️Unclear and complex legislative provisions; ❗️Heaviness in obtained quality certificates and operational permits; ❗️Eternal struggle for buyers with large brands; ❗️Sales in retail chains and export markets are almost inaccessible.     Deep milk processing: value chain in the project UFood2Chains " 🥛Deep milk processing is one of the value chains in the UFood2Chains project. It reflects the prospects for the development of the Ukrainian dairy sector and promotes sales in foreign markets. 📍However, in the process of deep processing of milk, difficulties arise, such as different production technologies and the difference (unequal) in the quality of casein. There is a growing need for the development of technologies that will enable manufacturers to maintain high quality products. 👉Participation in the "UFood2Chains" will allow companies to introduce new technologies and grow in the markets, as we focus our efforts on: ✅Optimization of production processes; ✅Improving product quality; ✅Reduce costs and increase competitiveness.
