According to the registration approximately 6600 business/trade/general visitors were estimated to have visited the exhibition. About 900 overseas trade visitors were recorded who came from Britain, Burundi, India, Hong Kong, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda, Mozambique & UAE.

  •   The overall performance of the Tanzanian economy remains strong with a high rate of growth, and a low rate of inflation over the past five years. 

  •   Tanzania’s GDP was USD 44.5bn approx in 2016 versus USD 31.4bn in 2010. Tanzania’s annual GDP growth rate averaged 7% over the past 5 years, making it one of the 20 fastest growing economies in the world and beating the Sub-Saharan Africa average GDP growth rate of 4.4% during the same period. 

  •   Imports grew by 27%, from USD9.8b to USD12.5b in 2016. 

  •   Major commercial/trading cities in Tanzania include Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Zanzibar, Arusha, Mbeya, Tanga, Kilimanjaro and Kigoma. 

  •   The Tanzanian tourism sector is the country’s number one foreign currency earner.
