Nordbygg is Northern Europe’s largest meeting place for the construction and real estate industry. Held every two years, the event attracts around 50,000 visitors from the construction sector in Sweden, Scandinavia, the Baltic states and the rest of Europe. In recent years, Nordbygg’s international reputation has grown, the number of foreign visitors has doubled and the proportion of foreign exhibitors has steadily increased.
Since the Swedish Government resolved to ban all large public gatherings and events, Nordbygg’s project team and Stockholmsmässan has intensively worked to enable a safe exhibition to take place alongside with intensive lobbying work to be allowed to open under safe conditions. However, due to the current situation in Sweden and elsewhere, it has become clear that the implementation of Nordbygg in April 2021 is no longer viable. In consultation with the industry, we have therefore decided to move the next iteration of Nordbygg to April 26-29, 2022 – keeping to the regular season and year for the event.
“We could never have predicted that the pandemic would continue this long. Nordbygg is our biggest and most internationally focused exhibition and everyone involved therefore needs a lot of time to prepare. It is therefore crucial that we give everyone plenty of notice about the situation regarding the exhibition. The reality in Sweden and internationally paints a stark picture and unfortunately the best thing we can do is to cancel the exhibition once again and hope for a safe and successful event in 2022 instead,” says Peter Söderberg, Event Manager Nordbygg.
