Livestock Expo Zambia 2022

The DLG (German Agricultural Society) offers German and international companies the opportunity to jointly develop international key markets, to place products and services in the best possible way and to generate growth. One of the key markets in the African sub-Saharan region is Zambia. For this reason, DLG International is organizing the Livestock Expo Zambia for the third time. It will take place in conjunction with the already established Agritech Expo Zambia, owned by the Zambian National Farmers Union. Last edition at AgriTech Expo 2016, around 16,000 visitors gathered information from 160 companies about the latest developments in the agricultural machinery and equipment sector. Many farmers in Zambia also operate professional animal husbandry, so it is expedient to organize a trade fair on this subject at the same venue.  

Due to its freshwater resources Zambia offers ideal conditions for agriculture.

About two thirds of the population are employed in this sector and contribute for more than 40% to the GDP.

Because of the rapidly booming market in the cities, the livestock sector - dairy industry included - has excellent growth opportunities. The most important basic food is maize. Other important crops are: manioc, millet, sorghum, sunflowers, cashews, soybeans, wheat, rice and sugar cane. These are cultivated in professional farms as well as in Emerging Farms.
