Event is being prepared at a time when a global El Niño is forecast that will affect Peru

Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023 will be held - from October 04 to 06, at the Jockey Exhibition Center

It will bring together decision makers and experts in joint solutions according to the reality of the regions of Peru

"The time is now: Let's limit global warming to 1.5ºC!" is the motto of the new version of Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023, the main water technology fair in Peru, which will take place from October 4 to 6, at the Jockey Exhibition Center, in the Lima district of Surco.

             "We need future investments in water and sanitation to help us have net zero emissions, to try to limit global warming to less than 1.5 degrees Celsius and avoid the climate catastrophe that various experts have been warning us about for years," Yessenia noted. Valdárrago, general coordinator of Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023.

             During the launch ceremony of this annual event on technological solutions for water services, Valdárrago emphasized the dangers of global warming, with the increase in natural disasters, extreme weather, loss of biodiversity, conflict risks and violence.

“And this threat is also latent in the oceans, the Amazon forests, the Andean glaciers, the coral reefs; in the normal development of agriculture, and in the provision of water and sanitation services, ”she noted.

Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023 is the main scientific-technological fair for water and sustainability in Peru. In this new version, more than 100 providers of technological solutions for the sector will participate.​

It will bring together national and international decision-makers and experts to find joint solutions according to our reality and needs in the different regions of Peru.

The announcement of the holding of "Water & Sustainability Expo - 2023" comes at a time when the National Study of the El Niño Phenomenon (ENFEN) forecasts the occurrence of El Niño Global, whose effects could begin to be felt in Peru between November 2023 and January 2024.

Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023 is considered the ideal platform for meeting supply and demand in the water and sanitation, agriculture, mining, industry, renewable energy, circular economy, environmental sustainability, ecological solutions, water culture and sustainability sectors, solid waste management, sustainable cities, international cooperation and promoting the role of science and technology.

The fair consists of pavilions with stands for the exhibition of companies, government entities and international cooperation. During the three days of the event, a varied program of keynote lectures, round tables, commercial talks, business articulation programs, training and various activations will be held, from technical issues, environmental culture, to tastings or experiences.

The organizing committee of Expo Agua & Sostenibilidad 2023 is made up of the Water Competence Center (CCA), the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MCVS), the Ministry of the Environment (MINAM), the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation ( MIDAGRI), the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), SUNASS, SEDAPAL, OTASS, ANEPSSA, OSINFOR, SENCICO, CONCYTEC among other organizations.
