  Why a 2024 edition in Dijon ?  

For this 73rd edition, the Mineral Industry Congress-Exhibition is setting up shop in Dijon, capital of Bourgogne.

Bourgogne of course evokes famous wines but also Bourgogne stone, which has a geographical indication (GI).

The region has, like the entire metropolitan territory, lost its coal and metal mines, but it has preserved and developed their industrial heritage with notable industries dedicated to rail mobility such as Alstom in Belfort for TGVs, trains, metro trains and automobile manufacturing with Peugeot in Doubs.

It has become a historic link in the nuclear power industry with the sites of Chalon-sur-Saône and Le Creusot where Framatome manufactures reactor components for French and foreign parks.

Ranked among the very first French regions in terms of industry and R&D, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is fully in line with the 2024 theme: reindustrialization, exploitation and valorization of our resources.
