World Crisis & Emergency Management Summit 2025

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor, the National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) is organising the 8th round under the title of “Together Towards Building Global Resilience”.

The Summit is a leading initiative in the Middle East region in its field and one of the world’s most important specialised summits, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to advancing global preparedness and resilience in emergency and crisis management. 

The first edition of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Conference was kicked off in 2008, and through its sessions until 2019 it established a pioneering and unique position at the international level as it is the first event of its kind in the Gulf region and the Middle East that discusses the field of emergency and crisis management, expanding to become a summit linking expertise and capabilities in the region to leave an impactful mark in its 2023 edition.

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that it will be hosting the World Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2025 (WCEMS), under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser. The summit will be held on April 8th and 9th in Abu Dhabi under a title of “Together Towards Building Global Resilience”, and will discuss emergency, crisis and disaster management mechanisms that raises the readiness of the emergency and crisis system and unify world efforts in the sector, in addition to highlighting the future of the sector during the time of increasing threats and risks around the world, as well as current vital issues.

The world summit in this year's edition is distinguished from all previous editions by transforming it into a major world summit centered around unifying world efforts and advancing strategic and executive discussions that leave an impact on its visitors and the world. The 2025 edition is considered unique in the quality of the stature of experts, senior officials and stakeholders in the emergency and crisis sector, in addition to discussing the most important issues that currently affect the world while foreseeing future challenges. The summit also includes a major side exhibition targeting students and the young generation through which nations and the future will be built.

The field of emergency, crisis and disaster management is one of the most important fields in the world due to its generality and diversity of intersecting sectors in the system of emergencies, crises and disasters. Therefore, the Crisis and Emergency Management World Summit attracts many specialists and experts in the field of emergency, crisis and disaster management from various government agencies, international organizations, representatives from governments and ambassadors, in addition to experts and military personnel, and all those of relevance in various fields.

About the National Crisis, Emergency & Disaster Management Authority

NCEMA was established on May 14, 2007, as part of the hieratical structure of The Supreme Council for National Security of the UAE, NCEMA is considered to be the national standing body responsible for establishing, regulating, and coordinating all standards related to emergency, crisis, and disaster management. NCEMA is also responsible for developing national unified plans for various emergency scenarios.

NCEMA oversees the development of response capabilities by proposing and coordinating programs among stakeholders at the local and national levels. NCEMA also coordinates the roles of the concerned governmental parties in the event of an emergency, crisis, or disaster. It engages in the preparation and coordination of essential emergency plans for vital facilities and infrastructure and follows up on their implementation in coordination with the concerned governmental authorities.

NCEMA conducts the necessary studies and research through a dedicated center for information and resources related to emergency, crises and disasters, predicting their occurrence and how to manage them with the concerned authorities.
