BUILDINT KENYA is the main international Building & Construction Event. Setting new highs for participation from over 15 countries & visitors from over 12 African countries, the event is all set for its exhibitors to meet serious buyers within the 3 days. The event continues to to lead the way in showcasing the new products & technology not only to Kenya but also to its surrounding countries. The 13th edition of the show promises to be larger & more successful for its exhibitors than ever before.
According to the registration approximately 7800 business / trade / general visitors were estimated to have visited the exhibition. About 900 overseas trade visitors were recorded who came from Britain, Burundi, India, Hong Kong, Oman, Singapore, South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda, Mozambique & UAE.
IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT KENYA
- Imports rose by 14.5 per cent in 2014.
- The Port of Mombasa recorded a growth of 11.7 per cent in total cargo throughput handled from 22.3 million tonnes in 2015 to 24.9 million tonnes in 2016.
- Total air passenger and cargo traffic handled at the airports rose by 7.9 and 6.8 per cent, respectively in 2016
- The country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is estimated to have expanded by 5.3 per cent in 2016
- The Performance of the Kenya Shilling was quite stable against major currencies in Africa ( 1 USD = 14 Kenya Shillings, Jan 2017 )
- The Building and Construction sector registered an accelerated growth of 13.1 per cent in 2016 compared to a revised growth of 5.8 per cent in 2015.
