Construction materials:

• In the construction materials sector, local production is inadequate and covered by open imports.

Parallel to the increase in oil revenues, infrastructure and superstructure investments will expand the construction and building materials market.

• The main cement suppliers are Turkey and Iran. There are other countries such as Pakistan and Jordan.

• Construction chemicals, construction paint, insulation / insulating materials, and PVC window / pipe consumption / markets are products that show improvement.

​Housing and Roads



• Iraq needs at least 2 million housing units.

• The required investment amount is at least $ 2 billion.

• The government's goal is to make every citizen a home owner in the next five years.

• Parallel to the rise in international prices of oil, Iraq's oil revenues increased and the government eliminated financial problems. It is considered that it will be able to finance investment costs with its own resources.

• The length of the Iraqi highway is 42,000 km and 85% consists of asphalt.

• Renewal of transport infrastructure (maintenance of existing roads and construction of new ones) The investment amount required for this project is $ 40 billion.

• The Iraqi government's other future project is to make the country a transit route. According to the plan,the ships arriving from the Far East (especially China) to Arabian Gulf unload its shipment from Europe in Basra, Iraq and Europe transit through Turkey by road transport is predicted.
