There is a growing body of evidence showing that the infant microbiome has a long-term impact on human health. Further research has shown that exchanges of the microbiota between infant and mother are essential to the establishment of the infant microbiome. What then are the effects on the maternal and infant health of nutritional intake during pregnancy?
New for 2021
The Maternal and Infant Health Congress Asia explores how research is advancing our understanding of this exciting area and developing new ways to improve the health of future generations. Through a series of case studies, we explore how pregnancy, modes of birth, breastfeeding, diet and antibiotic usage, can influence the microbiome and disease outcomes such as obesity, asthma, allergies and neurodevelopment disorders to name a few.
This meeting is a spin-off from our Microbiome Asia series, which has established its presence in the region since 2015. We will bring together key leaders from academia and industry to create a collaborative environment in which to explore the latest scientific and business developments in maternal-infant health.
