As of the end of 2012, China’s elderly population reached 194 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.91 million, accounting for 14.3% of the total population.

2013

In 2013, the elderly population topped the 200-million mark to reach 202 million, and the aging rate will arrive at 14.8%.

2018

By the end of 2018, China had reached 249 million people aged 60 and over, accounting for 17.9% of the total population.
