With the implementation of various environmental policies and consumer’s height-ening environmental awareness, eco-friendly printing inks have become the focus of research in the printing industry of many countries. Water-based inks have been brought into the spotlight due to their low proportion of organic solvents which can reduce the emission of VOCs.
Currently, the printing market is undergoing profound changes due to various fac-tors, which makes packaging and labels increasingly important. In terms of printing technology, water-based inks have been widely used in gravure printing, flexographic printing and digital printing. With the widening use of new printing machines and the shift towards on-demand printing, water-based inks will see exponential growth in packaging. In the next five years, water-based ink will take center stage in the ink indus-try.
